CECIMO – European Association of Manufacturing Technologies

CECIMO is the European Association of Manufacturing Technologies, with a primary focus on machine tools and additive manufacturing technologies. Since its establishment in 1950, CECIMO has made a significant contribution to the development of these sectors in areas such as economics, technology, and innovation.

The Association brings together 15 national associations representing approximately 1,500 industrial enterprises across Europe (EU + United Kingdom + EFTA + Türkiye), more than 80% of which are small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). CECIMO represents 97% of Europe’s total machine tool production and approximately one-third of global production. The organization represents around 150,000 employees and a turnover of approximately EUR 23.3 billion in 2025.

CECIMO is a pan-European organization dedicated to promoting the common interests and values of the European manufacturing technologies industry.

What CECIMO Does:

 

-Represents the common position of the European manufacturing technologies sector worldwide and promotes cooperation with partner organizations across the globe.

-Works to create a business environment that supports the development and global market deployment of the most competitive manufacturing solutions.

-Provides comprehensive market intelligence by collecting, analyzing, and disseminating statistical and economic data and reports, offering its members exclusive access to this information.

-Promotes the sector through EMO, the world’s leading international exhibition for machine tools and manufacturing technologies, which is a registered trademark of CECIMO.

-Encourages research and innovation in line with current and future market needs.

-Contributes to the development of global standards aimed at fostering a unified European market that is open to international competition by participating in European and international standardization bodies, including:

• ISO/TC 184/SC 1 – Physical Device Control
• ISO/TC 261 – Additive Manufacturing
• ASTM F42 – Additive Manufacturing
