BULGARIAN WELDING SOCIETY (BSW) – Младежки национален отбор по заваряване към Български съюз по заваряване

The Bulgarian Welding Society (BWS) is a professional organization bringing together Bulgarian companies for which welding is a core manufacturing process, as well as specialists, technical personnel, employees and students working and studying in the field of welding.

Established in 1949 as the “Welding” Department within the “Mechanical Engineering” Section of the Scientific and Technical Union, the Society builds on the experience and traditions of the industry. It supports the introduction and implementation of European and international standards and best practices in Bulgaria.

The BWS exchanges experience and information and maintains close contacts with the International Institute of Welding (IIW) and the European Federation for Welding, Joining and Cutting (EWF). The Society has been a member of the IIW since 1960 and of the EWF since 1990. Since 2005, it has also been a supporting member of the Australian Welding Technology Institute (WTIA).

The Society establishes partnerships and carries out joint activities with Bulgarian and international organizations whose fields of activity are related to those of the BWS.

The Bulgarian Welding Qualification Centre (BWQC), acting as a nationally authorized body of the International Authorization Board (IAB), the School for International Welding Engineers (SIWE), the Welding Training Centre (WTC) at the Technical University of Sofia, and the Nexas Academy of Nexas Ltd. work together with the BWS to improve the qualifications and professional skills of welding personnel.

With its extensive experience and history dating back to 1949, the Bulgarian Welding Society has developed into an authoritative professional organization representing the interests of companies for which welding is a key manufacturing process, specialists at all professional levels, employees and students in the field of welding, as well as manufacturers and suppliers of specialized equipment.

Building on this solid foundation and continuously benefiting from the valuable experience and expertise of the international welding organizations of which it is a member, the Society contributes to the strategic positioning and development of the industry.

The BWS continuously works to make welding technologies more efficient, environmentally sustainable, reliable and safe, while also improving the quality of education and training for welding professionals.

The members of the Bulgarian Welding Society believe that, in this way, they will further strengthen the prestige and recognition of the welding profession.
